No, your address is not printed on the Residence Permit card. The only way to know for sure is to physically go to the Center of Registers (Registrų centras) with your ID. Electronic verification for foreigners often fails due to login restrictions. Don't risk it — check in person.

Not yet. This notification simply means the Migration Department has decided to grant you the right to reside in Lithuania. It is just the legal decision.

Now the card needs to be physically manufactured. You must wait for the second notification saying: "Document issued" (Dokumentas paruoštas). Only after receiving this confirmation should you register for a visit to collect it.

• Standard transfer: yes, the employer receives an automatic notification.
• New Residence Permit: if we apply for a completely new Residence Permit instead of a transfer, the Migration Department generally does not automatically inform your old employer about the new request until a decision is made.

The only option is to submit a request for a completely new Residence Permit, starting the process from scratch. You cannot use the simple change-of-employer procedure for two reasons:

• Nothing to change: you aren't officially employed yet.
• The 6-month rule: since you just received a new permit, the 6-month restriction has just reset for you.

This is a complex process. For the Migration Department to allow you to bring your spouse and children, you must meet 3 main conditions:

• Seniority: you must have lived in Lithuania for at least 2 years.
• Stability: over the last 2–3 years, you must not have changed employers more than twice.
• Finances: your salary must cover your needs, and you must have enough funds in your account to support your family for a year.

Based on the 2026 MMA, this is approximately 20,754 Eur for a wife and one child.

Legally, no one forbids it, but I highly recommend against doing it yourself. This will almost certainly cause a collision in the system. The Migration Department will see two overlapping applications and may reject both. Such actions should only be handled by a specialist.

I recommend starting 4 months before the expiration date. The absolute latest is 1 working day before, but that is extremely risky. While the new card is being manufactured, you will be left without a valid document.

Yes, you can, but you must choose one of two difficult paths:

1. Path 1: submit documents via VFS Global in your home country. This is safer, but appointments are hard to catch.
2. Path 2: come to Lithuania with a valid Schengen visa (Type C or D) and submit in person.

If a driver takes the paid documents and runs away after a month, that is a debt that must be repaid. But here is the nuance: drivers generally do not run from good employers.
